Objectiu de la convocatòria
The aims of EFSD are to encourage and support research in the field of diabetes, to rapidly diffuse acquired knowledge and to facilitate its application.
Característiques principals
EFSD and MSD have established a European Research Programme for preclinical and translational research on Novel Therapies for Type 2 Diabetes to encourage new projects aimed at identifying novel new targets for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

Submissions may include but are not limited to:
  • Mechanisms to induce "browning of dipose tissue"
  • Novel targets for improving skeletal muscle or adipose tissue insulin resistance
  • Bile acid biology as it relates to metabolic disease. This includes acions relating to glucose metabolism, lipid metabolism, energy balance and related diseases including diabetes, atherosclerosis and obesity
  • Mechanisms of glucose-dependent insulin and glucagon secretion

    Requisits
    Single non-profit institutions or groups of such institutions from Europe and associated countries. The principal investigator and any co-investigators must be normally employed at a non-profit institution and the study must be performed at such a place of work.

    Durada
    1 year or longer, depending on the needs of the project and justified in the application.
