Objectiu de la convocatòria
The EFSD/Boehringer Ingelheim European Diabetes Research Programmes are intended to stimulate and accelerate European research in diabetes in the specific areas of common interest.
Característiques principals
EFSD and Boehringer Ingelheim have established a partnership called EFSD/Boehringer Ingelheim European Diabetes Research Programme. This programme consists of two elements, each with a different focus:

  • Regulation of secretion and/or function of pancreatic hormones. In particular, proposals dealing with the following are especially but not exclusively welcome: investigation of the role, function and mechanism of non-beta cells; crosstalk between various hormones and/or cell types of the endocrine pancreas. Only basic research projects will be considered for this Programme
  • Mechanisms relating renal dysfunction to cardiovascular disease in type 2 diabetes. In particular, proposals dealing with the following are especially, but not exclusively, welcome: projects investigating novel biomarkers or the translation of experimental hypotheses and clinical results. Only clinical / translational research projects will be considered for this Programme.

    Requisits
    Applications for an EFSD/Boehringer Ingelheim grantgrant are invited from single non-profit institutions or groups of such institutions from Europe and associated countries. The principal investigator and any co-investigators must be employed full-time at a non-profit institution and the study must be performed at their place of work.

  • Basic research projects: up to EUR 100,000 for projects lasting up to 2 years
  • Clinical research projects: up to EUR 400,000 for projects lasting up to 3 years
