Objectiu de la convocatòria
The Breast Cancer Research Program (BCRP) challenges the scientific community to design research that will address the urgency of ending breast cancer. Specifically, the BCRP seeks to accelerate high-impact research with clinical relevance, encourage innovation and stimulate creativity, facilitate multidisciplinary collaborations, and support future breast cancer leaders.

BCRP Overarching Challenges
Consistent with the program’s overall goal, the BCRP encourages applications to address one of the following BCRP overarching challenges:
  • Eliminate the mortality associated with metastatic breast cancer
  • Prevent breast cancer (primary prevention)
  • Distinguish aggressive breast cancer from indolent cancers; overcome the problems of overdiagnosis and overtreatment
  • Revolutionize treatment regimens by replacing drugs that have life-threatening toxicities with safe, effective interventions
  • Identify what drives breast cancer growth and metastasis; identify why some breast cancers become life-threatening metastases
  • Identify what makes the breast susceptible to cancer development
  • Determine why some, but not all, women get breast cancer
  • Determine why/how breast cancer cells lay dormant for years and then re-emerge (recurrence); determine how to eliminate dormant cells early
    The BCRP is currently accepting applications for four award mechanisms. Each award mechanism has different deadlines, funding limits and eligibility requirements. Please consult the Synopsis of BCRP FY2013 Award Mechanisms document in order to find the most convenient mechanism for your research project. You will find the complete information on the selected mechanism in the corresponding Program Announcement.

    SUBMISSION INFORMATION:
    All award mechanisms require a Pre-application through the CDMRP eReceipt System (https://cdmrp.org/). Deadline June 18, 2013 (Post-doctoral Fellowship Award, Era of Hope Scholar Award) and June 25, 2013 (Innovator Award, Breakthrough Award)
    Succesfull pre-applications will be invited to submit a full application submission through Grants.gov (http://www.grants.gov/).Deadline July 2nd 2013(Post-doctoral Fellowship Award, Era of Hope Scholar Award) and September 25st, 2013 (Innovator Award, Breakthrough Award)
