Objectiu de la convocatòria
Fondation Leducq is a French non-profit health research foundation, the mission of which is to improve human health through international efforts to combat cardiovascular disease.

The Transatlantic Networks of Excellence in Cardiovascular Research Program is designed to promote collaborative research involving centers in North America and Europe in the areas of cardiovascular and neurovascular disease. The principal aims of this program are to develop international cardiovascular and neurovascular research networks that benefit from a demonstrable collaborative advantage; to advance science in the areas of cardiovascular and neurovascular disease; to apply the knowledge gained through research to promote the development of technology and therapeutics to improve human health; and to support the career development of young investigators in cardiovascular and neurovascular disease.

Each network is built around a transatlantic research alliance involving two network coordinators.

Applicants to the Transatlantic Networks Program must submit a letter of intent (LOI) through the web-based application service managed by Altum proposalCENTRAL by September 12th, 2103:

(The application will be available mid-July).

Selected LOIs will be invited to submit a full proposal, deadline February 2014.

Requisits
Participants in a Fondation Leducq Transatlantic Network of Excellence program must be affiliated with an academic research center in North America or Europe, and must have expertise in cardiovascular or neurovascular disease or an appropriate related field.

Fondation Leducq will generally allow the participation of members from institutions located outside of Europe and North America. Investigators from such institutions are not eligible to be network coordinators, but may be proposed as network members without prior consideration from the Fondation Leducq under certain conditions.

There are some restrictions in the number of applications in which an investigator can participate. Please check the Program Description.
