Objectiu de la convocatòria
JDRF is the world’s leading non-profit organization with the mission to cure type 1 diabetes (T1D). The purpose of this call is to invite proposals to support and advance the discovery, development, and/or validation of biomarkers of pancreatic beta cell stress and dysfunction. Studies based on use or validation with human beta cells/islets and clinical samples or tissues will be of special interest.
Característiques principals
Innovative: supports proposals for highly innovative research with significant potential to accelerate the mission of JDRF. The innovative research should have the potential for a change in the current paradigm or conventional wisdom or to lead to a seminal discovery or to be groundbreaking.
Pilot and Research Tool: supports innovative pilot studies with limited, well-defined objectives. Pilot studies should be designed to answer a single, clear, question of high potential impact. Research Tool grants are meant to support the creation of critical research tools where none currently exist or where the existing tools are demonstrably inadequate. The resulting reagents must be made readily available to the broader research community.
