Objectiu de la convocatòria
The Breast Cancer Research Program (BCRP) challenges the scientific community to design research that will address the urgency of ending breast cancer. Specifically, the BCRP seeks to accelerate high-impact research with clinical relevance, encourage innovation and stimulate creativity,and facilitate productive collaborations.

BCRP Overarching Challenges
Consistent with the program’s overall goal, the BCRP encourages applications to address one of the following BCRP overarching challenges:
  • Prevent breast cancer (primary prevention)
  • Identify determinants of breast cancer initiation, risk, or susceptibility
  • Distinguish deadly from non-deadly breast cancers
  • Conquer the problems of overdiagnosis and overtreatment
  • Identify what drives breast cancer growth; determine how to stop it
  • Identify why some breast cancers become metastatic
  • Determine why/how breast cancer cells lie dormant for years and then re-emerge; determine how to prevent lethal recurrence
  • Revolutionize treatment regimens by replacing them with ones that are more effective, less toxic and impact survival
  • Eliminate the mortality associated with metastatic breast cancer
    Alternatively, with adequate justification, applications may identify and address another overarching challenge related to the breast cancer landscape. Justification must be provided in the application.
    The BCRP is currently accepting applications for three award mechanisms:
  • Breakthrough Award Levels 1 and 2 II
  • Breakthrough Award Levels 3 II
  • Breakthrough Award Levels 4 II

    Each award mechanism has different deadlines, funding limits and eligibility requirements. Please consult the Synopsis of BCRP FY2019 Award Mechanisms document in order to find the most convenient mechanism for your research project. You will find the complete information on the selected mechanism in the corresponding Program Announcement.

    SUBMISSION INFORMATION:
    All award mechanisms require a Pre-application through the Electronic Biomedical Research Application Portal https://ebrap.org/ Deadline June 26, 2019 (Breakthrough Award Levels 3 II and 4 II) and August 22, 2019 (Breakthrough Award Levels 1 and 2 II)
    Succesfull pre-applications will be invited to submit a full application submission through Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov/ Deadline September 25, 2019 (Breakthrough Award Levels 3 II and 4 II) and September 5, 2019 (Breakthrough Award Levels 1 and 2 II)
