The objective of the EFSD/JDS Research Fellowships is to encourage collaborative research in the field of diabetes. Applications for Fellowships to carry out a scientific project will be accepted from both applicants working in Japan to travel to Europe or its associated countries and also from applicants working in Europe or its associated countries to travel to Japan.

Requisits
The host institution must be a recognised research institution and applicants should have demonstrated their ability in the field of diabetes research.
Applications may be made by any scientist or clinician who has been working in a postdoctoral position, with no age restricition.
Each applicant will need to provide a Letter of Support from both the home and the host institution.
The recipients must start the fellowship within 6 months of notification.
Dotació
Euro 50,000 (fifty thousand). The money awarded will be paid into the account of the recipients’ home institution. The budget may include items such as: salaries, travel, sustenance and consumables.
Durada
The scientific project will be one to twelve months in length with some extra time allowed to complete a language course.
