    COMISSIÓ EUROPEA
    The Joint Programming Initiative "A Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life" (JPI HDHL) has been established to coordinate research in the areas of food, diet, physical activity and health in order to achieve tangible societal and health impact and to strengthen European leadership and competitiveness in this field.

    The aim of this call is to support transnational, collaborative research projects that address important research questions regarding the effects of food (components) or diets and/or food processing on overweight and related metabolic diseases. An additional objective is to support Early Career Scientists in the area of food, nutrition and health.

    Proposals should focus on one or both of the following topics:
  • Identification of food (components) or diets that affect appetite and/or satiety, body weight regulation and/or risk factors for the development of overweight related metabolic diseases as well as the underlying mechanisms. This includes the understanding of individual responses to food components or diet.
  • The effect of food processing and/or storage conditions on food components, and the mechanisms by which this will influence appetite and/or satiety, body weight regulation and/or risk factors for the development of overweight related metabolic diseases. This can include studying how to modify the amount of these food components during food processing without affecting consumer acceptance.

    To support Early Career Scientists (ECSs) the following conditions apply:
  • Proposals must include training of Early Career Scientists (ECSs i.e. PhD students or/and post-docs – please refer to National Annexes). Examples of training activities are mobility and lab visits of ECSs between partners of the consortium or implementation of summer school(s).
  • To support career development the JPI HDHL will organize a training activity for ECSs to assist with their career development after the projects have started. Travel costs for at least one ECS per consortium partner must be included in the budget plan of the proposal.

    HUMAN FRONTIER SCIENCE PROGRAMME
    The aim of the Program is to promote, through international cooperation, basic research focused on the elucidation of the sophisticated and complex mechanisms of living organisms for the benefit of all humankind. Applicants are expected to develop novel lines of research distinct from their ongoing research. HFSPO attaches the highest importance to novelty, scientific merit, internationality, and interdisciplinarity. Preliminary results are not required.
    The Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) is a niche program that supports innovative basic research into fundamental biological problems with emphasis placed on novel and interdisciplinary approaches that involve scientific exchanges across national and disciplinary boundaries. The participation of scientists from disciplines outside the traditional life sciences such as biophysics, chemistry, computational biology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, nanoscience or physics has made biological research increasingly quantitative and will continue to do so. Such collaborations have opened up new approaches for understanding the complex structures and regulatory networks that characterize living organisms, their evolution and interactions.
    Note, HFSPO funds only basic research. Applied applications, including medical research typically funded by national medical research bodies, will be deemed ineligible.

    SOCIEDAD ESPAÑOLA DE ENFERMEDADES INFECCIOSAS Y MICROBIOLOGÍA CLÍNICA
    Amb aquesta convocatòria la SEIMC vol facilitar la investigació translacional de qualitat en Malalties Infeccioses i Microbiologia Clínica, proporcionant als socis el finançament necessari per a això. La convocatòria té com a objectius principals:
    - Seleccionar projectes que suposin un impacte elevat en la millora de la salut i que tinguin capacitat per modificar la pràctica estàndard.
    - Donar suport l'accés dels nostres socis joves a la categoria d'Investigador Principal, facilitant-los la consecució posterior d'altres fonts de finançament competitiu. Amb aquest objectiu es pretén específicament augmentar el potencial investigador de la Societat.

    The European Society of Intensive Care Medicine is an Association of individual persons.     The Clinical Research Award supports a research project to be performed by an investigator in a clinical environment. Some aspects of the proposal may involve collaboration with research laboratories. However, applications that lack a clinical component will not be considered.

    Proposals may be based on approaches ranging from physiology, diagnostic procedures, therapeutic interventions, to epidemiologic studies and evaluation of practices.

    EUROPEAN SOCIETY OF INTENSIVE CARE MEDICINE
    The NEXT Start-Up Grant supports the professional development of talented newly board-certified intensivists who have already a background in research and are willing to develop independent research programmes. The specific intent is to provide support for young and talented researchers/scientists who have the potential to become established independent investigators in the field of intensive care and emergency medicine.

    Research programme proposals may rely on approaches ranging from basic cellular responses to outcome research, and may include clinical applications as well as translational science. Timetable and milestones definition are required. Research programme timetable specification, including milestones and objectives are also required at time of application. 1-year assessment through ESICM validated evaluation tools and approval of 2nd year grant allocation. Dissemination of results through ESICM events and journals within 3-years following grant allocation is required. There will also be long-term follow-up of professional development as an established independent researcher.

    The RISE scheme will promote international and inter-sector collaboration through research and innovation staff exchanges, and sharing of knowledge and ideas from research to market (and vice-versa).

    RISE involves organisations from the academic and non-academic sectors (in particular SMEs), based in Europe (EU Member States and Associated Countries) and outside Europe (third countries).

    Support is provided for the development of partnerships in the form of a joint research and innovation project. This is aimed at knowledge sharing via international as well as intersectoral mobility, based on secondments of research and innovation staff (exchanges) with an in-built return mechanism.

    The organisations constituting the partnership contribute directly to the implementation of the joint research and innovation activities by seconding and/or hosting eligible staff members.

    Exchanges can be for both early-stage and experienced researchers' levels and can also include administrative, managerial and technical staff supporting the research and innovation activities of the proposal.

    A més de reconèixer el treball d'investigadors que contribueixen al relleu generacional en aquesta disciplina científica-tècnica, pretén donar valor i servir com estimulo perquè els investigadors més joves continuïn la seva tasca en aquest àmbit, un treball essencial per a poder conèixer cada dia mes i millor una de les malalties amb major incidència en la nostra societat i tenir més eines per enfrontar-la.

    Hi ha dues categories dels grups de recerca:
  • Grups dirigits per joves investigadors, nascuts al 1974 o amb data posterior.
  • Grups de recerca habituals d'aquesta modalitat.

    Podran ser beneficiaris de la modalitat Contractes PFIS els centres en què desenvolupin la seva activitat els investigadors que van obtenir finançament com a investigadors principals de projectes individuals o coordinadors de projectes coordinats o multicèntrics en la convocatòria 2018 de l'AES dins de la modalitat de Projectes de recerca en salut. En el cas de projectes amb dos investigadors principals, només un d'ells podrà presentar un candidat per al projecte.
